A Star Is Born

Meet Ms. Kam Showers

Kam Showers

Brings sweet melodic sounds of R&B, Soul, Jazz and dance music. Influenced by Chaka Khan, Donna Summer, Jill Scott, Phyllis Hyman and Jimmy Scott, her stage show you will surely leave you with lingering sensations that will lift your soul and smile in your heart.

Kam Showers grew up as an Air Force brat, having lived in Spain, Guam, California, New York, North Dakota, Florida, Georgia and Missouri. During these years, she describes herself as a “closet singer”, singing off and on in the church of her lastest destination. But following the death of her father in 1993, Kam decided to take singing seriously and make sure she had no regrets in her life. From that point on, she has pursued a singing career in earnest, and quickly earned opportunities to sing with luminaries such as Shirley Caesar, TD Jakes, Vickie Winans, to Celion Deon. In 1996, she was a member of a 5,000 piece choire during the Paralympics Games in Atlanta, where she opened for Aretha Franklin, Hall & Oates, Kirk Franklin & the Family, Carly Simon, Liza Minnelli and Teddy Pendergrass.

In the last few years, Kam has led her own band, which has performed across Tampa Florida, opening for Myles Jaye, Malcolm Jamal Warner, Clarence Carter and Ray Goodman & Brown during the Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival. Kam now resides in Atlanta, GA where she has performed at the Cobb County NAACP Juneteenth Festival and sang with the Neo- Reinsurance Jazz Orchestra under the leadership of Ed Jackson and has played at various venues with her band.
